ALL THE BAGS

I WANT TO BUY

A recurring series of all the pretty things I want. Some I bought, some I’m pining for, some might never make it to my closet. But a girl can dream.

01 GUCCI HORSEBIT 1955

Let’s pretend money is no object here. And in that fantasy land where my closet funds are limitless, I’d buy this bag. The square-shape is so classic, the horsebit logo so iconic, the black leather so versatile. Ugh, I pine for you!

02 CLARE V. LE ZIP

Okay, something a little more realistic. I have the Le Zip tote from last year, and it’s a great workbag. Fits a 13” laptop, plus all the other things you need to carry to get you through the day. Bonus points for the top zipper and long cotton strap. This bag also wears really well - I’ve thrown it around at the restaurants, traveling, etc. - it’s a solid bag. And the tote size - it’s not one of those super oversized totes that swamps you, but at the same time it doesn’t look like a weird shrunken tote either. It’s kinda the perfect size for petites.

04 CHLOE WOODY

It seems ridiculous to spend almost $1,000 on a straw tote, but here I am, for the second year in a row, lusting after this straw tote. The grey coloring with woven straps are even better than last summer’s offerings. I don;t know what I would do with this bag, just know I want it to have it and I probably would wear it like five times. But it’s so cute!

03 SEZANE CLAUDE

Everything about this bag radiates French-girl-chic. I missed the boat on getting the burgundy color that every cute Parisian influencer suddenly has, so this dark red croc print is my runner-up. But I love the rounded bottom, the gold clasp, the elegance this bag just exudes… I’m even warming up to the croc print - I feel like it will add a nice texture and some dimension to an otherwise simple outfit. Should I buy this? Did I just convince myself I need this?

05 CELINE TEEN TRIOMPHE

I love this bag. I tried it on in Seattle last winer and ohmygod I loved it so much. But unfortunately, reality strikes again and I don’t really have the budget to spend $4,000 on a teen triomphe. But if I did, I would wear it everyday, it would flatter and elevate every outfit, and I would feel like a million bucks every time I pulled it out. Love this warm grey color too. Maybe someday this bag will make it to my closet, but for now, I’ll lust after it and live vicariously through all those IG cool-girls that are lucky enough to have one.

06 SEZANE MILO

This bag is my Gucci Horsebit / Celine Triomphe consolation prize. It’s really great, and literally 10% of the cost of one of those bags. A very ladylike rectangular shape with the gold clasp, the strap is short enough that it falls proportionally on short gals, the blue color matches jeans and I love that monochrome dressing idea. Best part: fits your whole wallet. And it’s $450.
